General Tire “Vegas To Reno” presented by FOX Shocks race started well for #1920 as we started 13th out of almost 40 entries. Our YXZ was roaring along with the best of the best in off-road racing and the competition definitely showed up!
By race mile 100 we had the physical 2nd position and there were no signs of stopping for us. We, unfortunately, got stuck in silt around race mile 350 for an hour and a half. We experienced no issues with our YXZ until race mile 375 when our driver front lower control arm was tweaked by a boulder and it started affecting the car.
After doing some work at pit 11 we were off and still pounding away at a podium finish! At race mile 405 we got stuck in silt and after multiple attempts, we weren’t going anywhere. After an hour of sitting, waiting and wishing, Best In The Desert’s recovery team got us out of the silt, by this time it was almost midnight (started at noon, 12 hours of racing).
Our Raceline Wheels with Arisun Tires & Demon Powersports XHD Axles handled the toughest terrain without any stumbles or missteps. By 2 am we completed almost 510 miles of the hardest terrain in the US, and were merely 20 miles from the finish.
We finished “The Longest Offroad Race In The US” 17th in class. After everything is said and done we came out and handled ourselves, didn’t try to “break it or make it”, and our YXZ1000R was a BEAST. We were pleasantly surprised with Demon Powersports XHD Axles and the peace of mind that they afforded our race team.
There are so many variables that go into having a winning race team, Raceline Wheels, Arisun Tires & Demon Powersports XHD Axles isn’t one of those variables to worry about.
